Despite of Jeep Safari

Despite of Jeep Safari we did make it out to the desert to hike around with Kelly. We went up to Dead Horse Point area to walk the dogs and to get some fresh air. It seems to always rain during Easter Break, but we were able to get out between the storms.

We were also invited out to our friend Ghia and Kirk's dug out in Castle Valley for a braut roast, good conversation, and amazing views. Needless to say Verle wants to move out to Castle Valley or some place with a Grand View.

The First Mow!

Verle just could not wait to mow the lawn. On Friday we went to the hardware store and bought our first lawn mower. We had a lawnmower, but it was a hand me down from his mom and Verle wanted to start out fresh. We still have to keep our fence up because the grass is not thick enough for the dogs to run around on.

Dad and Steve ride in Moab

The last couple of days Dad and Steve came over to Moab to go 4-wheel'n. Sadly they left this morning to return to the western part of the state. I was able to capture some photos of them riding when Verle wasn't driving to crazy.

On Friday they rode "Hell's Revenge" and "Fins n' Things". Verle was training me to drive up and down some of the "Fins". So I was able to get some steering wheel time.

On Saturday we took an all day adventure out to "Chicken Corners". Verle stopped and showed us where his Great Grandpa Johnson dead while on horse back looking after cattle. His horse tripped when his leg went into a prairie dog hole and the horse fell on top of him

Green Fuzz!

We have green fuzz (aka grass) coming up in both the front and back yard! About a month ago Verle and Shawn fixed the sprinkling system in the backyard and planted grass. Since Verle was in to getting wet adjusting sprinklers he decided to put some in the front yard. And a week later we planted grass.
Verle has also finished our walk way in the front yard, so that the mail lady can get to our mailbox easier. So next time you see Verle give him an "atta boy". He knows how to make the wife happy with green grass and a walk way.
